Description

Clearly this is a piece of history, as well as being incredibly rare, the date of production of this wine places it right in the middle of WWII and the 'reserved for England' tag around the base of the foil and red print accross the front label detailing maximum prices are a window into the past.

One other of these for sale globally - which can be yours for a mere £629. This bottle is sold with no reserve.

One of a pack of six war vintage champagnes I purchased some time ago from a private cellar - the case they were in had been laid down in ideal cellar conditions in the 50's and had not been touched since. The level is perfect, the label has a mark and a fold on the right hand side. Without opening this I cannot give a report on the condition of the wine, but the seals are all intact, there is no sign of seepage and everything indicates that it should be in tip top condition and fully drinkable.

The level when inverted is identical to a bottle of 98 pol roger I have.

Please see my other auctions for a variety of fina and rare wines. I will consolidate shipping on multiple purchases - please let me know if you are bidding on more than one auction and I will hold off on invoicing until they are all finished. The wine will be sent packaged in a polysafe container.

Overseas buyers please note that Paypal is the quickest, easiest and cheapest way to pay if you do not have a stirling account. Paypal's modest fees of 3.9% will be added to your incvoice should you choose to use this method.
