FOR AUCTION: ONE BOTTLE OF 1970 DOM PERIGNON - MAGNUM FORMAT

Sold in excellent condition for its age, this bottle is being sold from my own personal DP collection (along with others) to make way for further bottles of wine/champagne. It has been owned by my family since the late 70's and has been very well looked after and stored horizontally in cool and dark conditions. Hopefully you can see from the pictures that the bottle, label, foil and level are excellent considering the age. 1970 Was a very good DP vintage and given its careful storage and care, this bottle should still be drinking very well.

1970 DP in maagnum format is very rare here in the UK, indeed at the time of writing, there are no outlets selling this. Globally I have found just two selling the magnum; for £760 - £970 (ex VAT). My buy it now price and of course my reserve is set comfortably below the ex vat lower price and is very fair given the age, condition and prestige of this bottle. If you see my feedback, I have sold many bottles of older vintage DP - and have received excellent feeback for all of them.

Tasting notes are scarce as one might imagine, but the Cellar Tracker lot have rated 1970 DP at 93 pts with some nice accompanying sentiments. Value-wise, this bottle would cost you around £750 (+ Duty/VAT) from an outlet, if you are able to find one. There are only two global outlets advertising the magnum at the time of writing; for £742-£1246 - both values ex-VAT of course. My buy it now price is therefore very fair value taking this into account.
