Robert Parker writes on the 1990 vintage in Barolo:-

"1990 is a magnificent vintage,with aromatic wines of extraordinary richness,high glycerin and alcohol,and spectacular intensity.Most producers claim that these wines are richer,fuller,and potentially greater than the 1989s.They claim that the 1990 Piedmontese wines will have to be considered along with the 1971 and 1947 as one of the finest vintages for Piedmont following World War Two.High praise indeed!".


"Prunotto has followed the gorgeous 1989 Barolos with three superlative performances in 1990.The 1990 Barolo Bussia is the most closed of the trio of large-scaled,traditionally made wines.Crammed with rich,glycerin-imbued,sweet,jammy fruit,considerable body and extraction,and a monster finish,it needs 4-4 years of cellaring.It is a candidate for 25+ years of aging"
