Description

The 1994 La Chapelle displays admirable intensity,with a forward,soft,round style,reminiscent of a less concentrated version of the 1985.Although it reveals richness and intensity,the finish is austere and tannic. (Last tasted June 1996).

I have located a more recent tasting note of the 1994 La Chapelle:-

Initially dominated by strong meat aromas,moved into cassis period,then a cool blue fruit phase.Amazing finish,great middle,all round incredible bottle of wine.Drank alongside a '93 Guigal la Mouline,this held its own.Neither amazing vintages,but both great fully mature wines. 94 Points
