"The 2005 Shiraz "Attunga 1865" is sourced from ungrafted vines planted in the Clare Valley in 1865. It spent 25 months in 100% new French oak hogsheads and was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Opaque purple/black, it reveals an ethereal bouquet of crushed rocks, acacia flowers, espresso, mocha, black cherry, and blackberry. This leads to a powerful, intense, yet elegant wine with a very long, seamless finish. This beautifully balanced effort will excite tasters over the next 25 years."

The Attunga 1865 Shiraz is produced from some of the oldest living vines anywhere in the world. The vineyard’s 900 individual surviving plants from the early 1860 tell our most ancient terroir story. This rich and rare parcel of Shiraz continues to produce fruit of opulence and grace. Made only in vintages of exceptional fruit quality and limited to very small quantities, Attunga demonstrates classic Clare elegance.

These incredible and celebrated old vines grown on rich terra rossa soils layered upon limestone produce wines that deliver the perfect expression of terroir. Delicate and velvet on the palate, sweet fruit and Turkish delight dance on the tongue. A wine with fantastic finesse and fine natural tannins that will benefit from extended and careful cellaring of more than 20 years.
