2005 Louis Jadot Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru La Dominode (France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru) Burghound, 4/1/2007, 2nd Quarter, 2007, Allen Meadows (web) 89-91 In contrast to the Guettes, the nose here is quite expressive with a combination of ripe pinot fruit, wood spice and warm, indeed pungent earth that continues onto the very rich and full-bodied flavors blessed with abundant mid-palate sap that culminate in a powerful finish where the structure is better integrated. (drink starting 2013)

Tart and tight but admirably-concentrated in its fresh fruit on the palate, this evinces forest floor, smoked meat and wet stone low tones. The whole effect is very 2005 in its combination of dark flavor shadings with an actively intense freshness of fruit, carrying over into an impressively long finish.
