Description

2007 was considered by Robert Parker to be one of the greatest vintages ever in Chateauneuf du Pape.
In 2017 Parker said “In my 39 years of tasting,3 vintages stand out for their greatness and singularity…1982 Bordeaux, 1990 Barolo/Barbaresco, and 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape. If there has been any revelation, it is….how steady and reassuringly the greatest 2007 Chateauneufs have evolved. So, even if some wines are still young adolescents, they provide profound drinking.”
In 2009 Robert Parker said of Chateauneuf du Pape.. .“2007 is the vintage of my lifetime for this region, and I don’t say that lightly. These 2007s will also be very long-lived given their extraordinary balance. This is a truly historic and profoundly great vintage”
And Jeb Dunnuck, now doing the official Southern Rhone reviews said “…in most head to head tastings between the 2007s and 2010s, I almost always prefer the 2007s. They have lived up to the hype and are some of the most incredible wines in the wine world today.”

"Not surprisingly, the 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape La Reine des Bois is another prodigious offering from this estate.A blend of 80% Grenache and the rest equal parts Mourvedre,Syrah,Counoise, and Vaccarese it was aged 50% in stainless steel tanks and 50% in small oak barrels. The result is an inky/blue/purple-colored wine dispaying a formidable nose of graphite, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, cherries, licorice and violets.Full-bodied,with exquisite depth, impressive purity, and a multilayered, sumptuous finish with moderate tannin, its purity, freshness, vibrancy and precision are exceptional.Give it 2-3 years of bottle age and drink it over the following two decades.Winemaker and owner,Christophe Delorme and his brother Fabrice have made Domaine de la Morderee one of the bright shining lights of Chateauneuf du Pape".
(96+ Points).

Robert Parker. (The Wine Advocate. #185. October 2009).

"Stunning in its combination of density, purity, and elegance. There's plenty of dark fig, cassis, pastis and crushed plum fruit, along with melted licorice, ganache, and black tea notes. But the texture is supple, the tannins silky and the finish long and beguiling.Harnesses the precociousness of the vintage with true depth and length.Best from 2010 through 2030".
(96 Points).

James Molesworth. (The Wine Spectator. August 2009).
