Description

Jay Miller Score:94
The 2007 Shiraz Coach House Block from Seppeltsfield Road in Greenock was also aged in 50% new oak for 20 months. The aromatics are slightly reticent but reveal aromas of pain grille, pepper, lavender, incense, game, and blueberry. Ripe, sweetly-fruited, and layered, it will benefit from several more years of cellaring and drink well through 2022.

Wow- this exceeded my expectation and was worth every penny. This wine was big, but in a reserved way. Blueberry, cherry, spice and pepper. This is definitely a modern Syrah/Shiraz, but I would put it up against a lot of the cult modern CA Syrahs. I know everyones tastes are different but after an hour of Air this wine just showed very well and I really likes this one- long plush finish. Sad to see this go and I wished I had more bottles. I didn't notice any heat or the alc.
