A Super-Tuscan blend from Tenuta San Guido of Sassicaia fame.

70 % Cabernet Sauvignon 30 % Sangiovese

Purple with a transparent edge. Fruit forward nose with rich dark fruit like blueberries, blackberries, and red cherries that are more sweet than the sour cherries I associate with this wine. The nose is consistent with the palate. Tannins have rounded and the minerality is more understated in this six year old vino. The cab is dominating the Sangiovese at this point. Always a favorite at the price point. 5+13+17+8=92

The wine was very good on day one and surprisingly good on day two. Purple and opaque with a nose of sour cherries and supple red fruit, Tuscan minerality, and leather. On day one the palate was very Sangiovese. On day two it's more balanced with rounder tannins and an enveloping red berry finish. Drinking well right now. 5+12+17+8=92
