Description

(91-93) points The Wine Advocate, Robert Parker:
"A major sleeper of the vintage, this opaque purple-colored 2009 Crozes-Hermitage reveals notes of melted road tar, black truffles, graphite, blackberries, cassis, charcoal and roasted herbs. This full-bodied, stunning effort should drink nicely for 10-15 years. Drink: 2011 - 2026."

Emmanuel Darnaud is well on the road towards making a strong name for himself as one of the most talented young winemakers to emerge from this appellation in the last few years. His Crozes Hermitages 'Les Trois Chenes' is an intriguing, savory wine. Emmanuel's wine education came at the foot of one of the most noted Hermitage producers, Bernard Faurie. Since Darnaud's first vintage in 2001 he has emerged as a maker of deeply fruited wines that share a captivating smoky, savory bouquet.
