2009 Domaine Michel Lafarge Bourgogne (France, Burgundy, Bourgogne) View From the Cellar, 11/1/2010, Nov/Dec 2010, John Gilman 90 Domaine Lafarge makes one of the best examples of Bourgogne rouge year in and year out, and the 2009’s wonderful quality show just how good this vintage is at this quality level. The nose is deep, very pure and elegant, as it wafts from the glass in a blend of cherries, red plums, woodsmoke, fresh herbs and a superb base of soil tones. On the palate the wine is medium-full, pure and refined, with a lovely core of sappy fruit, modest tannins, bright, tangy acids and truly superb backend length and grip. Serious juice. (drink 2013-2030)

Recommended. (drink starting 2013)
