Description


A beautiful wine from Sardinian producer Agricola Punica , founded in 2002 under the leadership ofTenuta San Guido (Sassicaia), Cantina di Santadi, Antonello Pilloni, and legendary Tuscan winemaker, Giacomo Tachis. Barrua is an elegant Sardinian red (Isola dei Nuraghi I.G.T.) made from an exciting blend of hand-harvested 85% Carignano, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot.
Winemakers notes
With a deep violet color, the wine displays clean; on the nose elegant aromas of spices, wild herbs and red fruits. On the palate, the wine is soft and elegant, a unique blend of sage, myrtle, rosemary, vanilla flavors and fine tannins. Notes of red fruits, pepper and liquorice add an interesting spiciness before a harmonious and persistent finish.
Blend: 85% Carignano, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot

Lush, opulent notes of violets, roasted coffee, and black plum are surrounded by black cherry–skin tannins. Exotic cardamom, bay leaf, and five spice season the palate. The blend of 85% Carignan, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Merlot leaves a glistening note of licorice and slate on the finish.

Aromas of blackberries, blueberries, porcini, baking spices, rosemary and dried flowers. It’s full-bodied with firm tannins. Tight and compact on the palate with good structure and lively acidity. Firm finish. Drink in 2024.
