Description

As part of a consolidation and reorganization of my wine collection, it is with a rather heavy heart that I am selling this case of classic Barbaresco, from the iconic, legendary Producer that is Mr Angelo Gaja.

I have ONE case of SIX bottles of the 2013 Vintage for sale. The wine is in its original, wooden case. The bottles are completely untouched. I did not even unwrap one from its delicate, crepe-paper packaging for photography purposes, for fear that I would be unable to re-package it to the same level of quality.

This is a classic example of a top-notch Barbaresco, produced from the Nebbiolo grape varietal, in the Northern Italian region of Piedmont (Piemonte).

Renowned Italian wine writer and critic Antonio Galloni gave this wine a score of 96 Points, making it one of the most highly-scored Barbaresco since the current regulations were introduced. Wine Advocate's Monica Larner scored this wine 93+, and many other notable names have given very respectable scores in the mid-to upper-90's.

This wine should age beautifully. It is still a touch closed at the moment, though enjoyable nonetheless. A little patience should, I think, yield rather special results.
