Description

I have for auction, ONE case of SIX bottles of the 2012 vintage of Bolgheri's iconic Ornellaia "Supertuscan". This case has never been opened (including factory shrinkwrap and plastic 'ties') to preserve "collectability". PLEASE NOTE: the photos of the bottles and the opened case, are from another, Identical, case, which I have opened.

As you will see, the 2012 Collecor's case includes ONE bottle out of the six, whose label features the design of a prominent artist. In the case of 2012, this is Swiss Artist, John Armleder. This is a feature which has been done for several years now by Bolgheri, to 'capture' the essence of that vintage through the label's unique artwork.

The 2012 Vintage was christened L'Incanto ('The Enchantment'), and this is captured in Mr Armleder's "splash" themed label.

Composition: 56% Cabernet Sauvignon - 27% Merlot - 10% Cabernet Franc - 7% Petit Verdot.

I will not include pages of reviews or tasting notes here, as, with a wine as iconic as this, there is so much readilily written and available on the internet. I will include the following however, for ease of reference:

Wine Composition ("Bordeaux Style"): 56% Cabernet Sauvignon; 27% Merlot; 10% Cabernet Franc; 7% Petit Verdot.
