Description

I am selling two lots of six bottles (12 bottles total, which I cannot break up, unfortunately) of this rather lovely Brunello di Montalcino.

This comes from a sturdy, reliable year (2011), which happens to lay in the eclipse of the previous vintage, said by many to be the best in a generation or more (though obviously this will be reflected in the price).

Coming to drink now beautifully, though as with so many top Brunellos, the longer one can wait, so often the more one is rewarded. So, one may want to appreciate the extraordinary ageing potential of high-quality Brunellos such as this, if one has the willpower!!

An extract from James Suckling's Tasting Notes (chosen for brevity, not because of the level of praise!): "...Very ripe style with prune, berry and salted-nut aromas and flavors. Full body, savory intensity and a long, flavorful finish. Lots of juicy, fabulous fruit. Shows the greatness of the vineyard...Drink or hold." (J.S, 15.02.2016).

Suckling gave the wine a very impressive score of 94. Wine Enthusiast gave a similarly good score of 93.
