Château Pavie Macquin is a limestone-driven Right Bank estate known for producing structured, long-lived Saint-Émilion.

The vineyard sits on the plateau and upper slopes, giving wines with freshness and mineral backbone.
Château Pavie-Macquin was promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé B in 2006.

The 1989 vintage was warm and generous, producing ripe, expressive wines across Bordeaux. With over three decades of bottle age, this wine is now approaching full maturity, offering aromas and flavours of plum, dried red fruit, tobacco, earth and subtle truffle, with resolved tannins that still offer a chalky structure and a savoury finish.

Recent bottles of this wine have shown to be youthful for the vintage with primary fruit and chalky tannins remaining. It would have had immense concentration in its youth.
Gentle decanting is recommended to remove sediment.
