Description

Chateau Pontet-Canet has garnered plenty of interest and following in recent years. Wine Spectator gave it 90 points and it was from this point it started receiving high 80's and low 90's on a regular basis for this house.

Obviously the 1982 vintage has been hailed as one of the best vintages of the century, and quite rightly so, but the wines of Pauillac did very well indeed.

These bottles have been stored in the vaults of The Wine Society from release up to the last couple of months. This would explain the good presentation and levels. The colour is still very dark, pointing to a very nice drop indeed. These bottles are currently lying in a wine merchants premises.

As the years click by less and less of these "favoured" wines are available. I have more available if required. I have put a reasonable reserve on this lot, but on the retail market they would go for around £270 per bottle.
