Description

Level MS, bottle showing signs of old seepage and corrosion on capsule, cork not exposed, label worn and bin-soiled, scuffed and nicked.

Nothing but glowing notes from the start - well not quite the start, for I first tasted it lunching with Pierre Cordier at the Chateau in 1976. A very ripe, gibier and amazingly sweet and delicious magnum at the last Friday club lunch in Memphis (Michael Broadbent MW, 1997). A fine bricky Jeroboam in 1998 and most recently a beautiful double magnum as the guest of Pierre Cordier's daughters in London (Michael Broadbent MW, 2000). Michael Broadbent's Vintage Wine: 50 Years of Tasting the World's Finest Wines, 2002
Michael Broadbent MW

This forms part of a significant collection of distinguished Bordeaux. Sourced by a reputable UK merchant from trusted European suppliers and all purchased between 2019-2020 after which these were stored at LCB. Carefully inspected by Dreweatts, the wine shows fine and correct colour, firm corks, and well-preserved condition.
