A benchmark of the Right Bank, Château Trotanoy is widely regarded as one of Pomerol’s greatest estates—consistently producing wines that rival the very best of Bordeaux. Situated on the famed Pomerol plateau, Trotanoy shares its exceptional terroir with legendary neighbours including Pétrus, Lafleur, Vieux Château Certan, and Le Pin.

The 1986 vintage, now approaching 40 years of age, is a superb example of the estate's classic style: powerful yet elegant, deeply structured, and capable of extraordinary longevity. This magnum has matured gracefully, offering a fully developed bouquet of black truffle, dark plum, tobacco, graphite, and damp earth, alongside tertiary notes of leather and spice.

On the palate, the wine is silky and savoury, with a firm core of fruit, resolved tannins, and a long, mineral-tinged finish—hallmarks of both the vintage and the gravel-and-clay terroir that defines Trotanoy’s vineyards.
