Description

Under the same ownership as Ch Montrose since 2006, Cabernet Sauvignon makes up 37% of the blend, Merlot 55%, Petit Verdot 6%, Cabernet Franc 2%, aged in 30% new oak. The nose shows fragrant, black fruits, fine spiciness and a bright fresh character. The palate is sweet, rich and fleshy, with ample depth. This is an elegant Saint-Estèphe, with real lift and a long, satisfying finish.
Aromas of blackberries, licorice and spices. Full-bodied, dense and layered. Shows the structure and muscle of this estate. Needs time to soften and come together. Serious. Try in 2021.

While a step back from the sensational looking 2016, the 2015 Tronquoy Lalande is nevertheless a smokin’ good bottle of wine. Plums, graphite, earth and smoked herb notes all flow to a medium to full-bodied, nicely concentration, plump, rounded 2015 that’s a huge success for the northern Médoc in 2015. Give it a few years and enjoy over the following two decades. 2021 - 2041
