Description

This is a chance to own a spectacular magnum of Rapet's Corton-Charlemagne!

In the course of time, Domaine Rapet has brought its Corton-Charlemagne (3 ha today) to perfection. After the phylloxera crisis the vineyard was first planted with Aligoté vines. In his book, which has become a classic, Camille Rodier mentions this grape variety as a component of the Grand Cru with great respect. Today, Chardonnay has got the better of Aligoté. The 2006 vintage features a not yet explosive bouquet, which nevertheless reveals aromas of hawthorn and vanilla (12 months aging in oak barrels). It is full-bodied and round in the mouth with outstanding structure and a touch of vivacity, which comes as no surprise. It is now approaching perfection and should stay at that level for the next 8-10 years
