About the wine:
Bussia is one of the largest and most historic Menzioni Geografiche Aggiuntive (MGAs) in the Barolo zone. It lies within the commune of Monforte d’Alba, stretching across a varied south- to south-west–facing slope with calcareous marl soils. Bussia typically shows dark cherry and plum fruit, firm tannins, and a mineral, savoury profile that benefits from long ageing.

This Riserva brings intense varietal character. The 2013 vintage shows aromas of new leather, tobacco and violet. On the palate there’s black cherry jam, star anise and clove, supported by fine-grained tannins and vibrant structure.

The style is traditional Barolo-riserva: structured and built for ageing, though this vintage is showing good approachability under cellared conditions.
