Courvoisier Initiale Extra is a rare blend of extremely old cognacs that have been aged to perfection over many decades and meticulously blended by our Master Blender and his team to achieve its final, epic aroma experience. This sublime cognac is the embodiment of understated perfection, and has been internationally recognised as being richer, smoother and more mature than its contemporaries.

Perfect harmony and balance of aromas Aroma is everything for cognac. The character of each individual note is shaped by its terroir, grape, cask and years of maturation.  This is why Courvoisier takes great care to nurture every possible aroma at every possible stage of the cognac-making process. In recognition of this quality Courvoisier is consistently awarded in numerous spirits competition (IWSC and San Francisco spirits competition).

An elegant and rare blend of the best eaux-de-vie create this exceptional cognac, which is very deep and complex.

The Master Blender's tasting notes: Very rich and complex. Fragrances start with humid forest and truffle aromas, then port wine and cedar wood, and at the end spicy hints: cinnamon, orange peels, dry apricot, fruit cake. Explodes in the mouth, the taste is deep and harmonious; elegant and full of delicacy with a long and perfect finish.
