Description

It's Vougeraie's ancient white monopole. Berry's have this to say:

"Famously, vines for white wine have been planted here since 1110, adjoining the northern wall of Clos Vougeot. The monks clearly knew what they were doing. Arguably, this is the finest white wine of the Côte de Nuits."

They also typically indicate a drinking window of 20+ years

As for pricing, well there's an odd single mark on Winesearcher at £735.95/6bts IB, which doesn't stand up to much scrutiny. Other vintages, including similarly rated ones seem to be around £600-750 IB.

I'm selling Duty and VAT paid, so my reserve is £700

I bought these at auction from Dreweatts in 2017 (when they were already in storage at Vinotheque aka Eton Park, so they haven't moved in a while). I bought 2 x 6bts and have satisfactorily, and with great pleasure so far, executed a drink 6 sell 6 "strategy!"
