The bulk of this wine comes from a section of the Premier Cru Chalumeaux which was declassified when a previous owner replaced the topsoil. That was 40 years ago; following soil erosion and the vines’ roots pushing down, this arguably merits Premier Cru status again. Floral, elegant and sophisticated, this has crisp acidity and a gently chalky finish. Drink 2024-2032.

91-94 Jasper Morris
Clear pure colour, a touch more yellow than some. The de Montille 2020 Puligny delivers a beautiful bouquet, with a perfectly judged balance of ripeness, all the aromatics are there while the acidity behind stays good. This is a lovely and persistent example. Bravo.
