Description

From one of Alsace’s most renowned estates, this 2003 Altenberg de Bergheim Grand Cru exemplifies the terroir-driven philosophy of Marcel Deiss. With its steep south-facing slopes above Bergheim, in the Alsace Grand Cru vineyard of Altenberg de Bergheim, the wine is crafted from field-blends of traditional Alsace varieties in harmony with the geology of marl and limestone.

Founded in 1947 by Marcel Deiss (with the estate tracing viticultural roots in the family back to 1744) and now led by Jean-Michel Deiss and his son Mathieu, the domaine has earned global acclaim for pioneering natural, blended-vineyard wines and pioneering the practice of terroir-driven Alsace Grand Cru.

Excellent bottle condition with pristine label and capsule; fill level in neck. Provenance from a well-maintained private cellar.
