Favia, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, Coombsville

Description

*Made by Andy Erikson, who has consulted at Screaming Eagle and Harlan*
*Only 400 cases made.*

Made in tiny amounts (just 450 cases for the Coombsville ) by one of Napa’s most revered winemakers and with scores of up to 98 points, this is not to be missed.

The winemaker previous worked at Screaming Eagle, Harlan and Kongsgaard:
There is immense pedigree here as this is a project of Andy Erickson, now of the most talented winemakers in Napa. Erickson has a CV that reads like a who’s who of the Napa elite, having worked at Paul Hobbs, Kongsgaard and Harlan Estate, while having consulted at the most famous of all, Screaming Eagle. For him to turn his attention to Favia shows it to be of incredible potential.

The 2019s are outstanding and incredible rare:
For Antonio Galloni, this is "A stunning wine, the 2019 possesses off the charts richness and tremendous depth that just builds” and he advises his readers “Don’t miss it."

2019 Favia Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon, 98 points Antonio Galloni
The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville is a blend mostly from Meteor. A stunning wine, the 2019 possesses off the charts richness and tremendous depth that just builds with time in the glass. Inky dark fruit, plum, spice, licorice, menthol and crushed berries saturate the palate. The 2019 is one of the very finest wines I have ever tasted from Andy Erickson and Annie Favia. Don't miss it. (2022) www.vinous.com Drink 2025-2039

JEB DUNNUCK98+
Another thrilling 2015 from winemaker Andy Erickson is the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville, which comes from vines not far from the estate. It has classic cool climate notes of blue fruits, violet, chocolate, and green tobacco. These all flow to a deep, concentrated, yet finesse-driven wine that has fine tannins, terrific mid-palate depth, and a huge finish. It shows the classic Coombsville complexity, purity, and freshness, and will keep for 2-3 decades. [31/01/2019]
