Unique opportunity to taste a legendary Alsace Vendange Tardive Gewurztraminer wine from the excellent 1981 vintage, made by the masters of VT wines; Hugel.

This wine has been stored in the excellent storage facilities at the Wine Society until recently and in a domestic wine cabinet since.

No tasting notes for this wine have been located on the internet. The best idea can be found from the useful vintage chart of Hugel wines that can be found on the Hugel website at
http://blog.hugel.com/en/2011/12/hugel_vintage_chart_from_2007.html. From this it can be seen that the 1981 Gewurztraminer VT vintage is rated as 'excellent'. The level is excellent as shown on the photograph.
