Description

Stored in a Eurocave since arrival from the importing merchants bonded warehouse. Joseph Roty’s 2013 Mazis-Chambertin, a benchmark Grand Cru from Gevrey-Chambertin. Soft wood sets off the intensely earthy and highly complex sauvage and dark berry fruit aromas. There is excellent volume to the focused, vibrant and powerful broad-shouldered flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the palate coating and beautifully lingering finish. There is outstanding concentration but equally good delineation and this has the stuffing and structure to easily reward 15+ years of cellaring. A rare gem for Burgundy devotees. Can confirm this is already drinking superbly after tasting over Christmas. BH 93 points.
