Description

This is an unopened case of the Gran Vino Blanco, white rioja, from an historic vineyard once owned by Eugenia de Montijo, wife of Napoleón III (creator of the “Cru” system in Bordeaux) - hence the name 'Finca la Emperatriz'. At almost 600 metres above sea level in one of the coldest areas of Rioja and poor pebble soils this is the ideal vineyard for producing great, fine, elegant, long and tasty wines with great cellaring potential and in particular from the Viura grape. ABV is 13.5%

The estate has been owned by Hermanos Hernáiz, sine 1996 and now managed by sons Eduardo and Víctor Hernáiz.

Provenance: The case was imported from Spain on release by Bruges fine wine dealer Wijnen Feys, https://www.wijnenfeys.be. It was purchased from them by the vendor and shipped to his climate-controlled cellar.

It is now entering its drinking window and will drink well for 10 years or more
