Description

Named for its iron-rich, red volcanic soils, Monte Rosso has produced grapes of unmistakable character for more than a century. Over 250 acres are planted with some of the oldest vines in California, including this 84-year-old Cabernet Sauvignon block. These are the oldest plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon in California and Monte Rosso is arguably the finest vineyard in Sonoma.

The 2018 is currently drinking beautifully but has plenty of fruit, structure and tannin to age gracefully over the next 10-30 years. 2018 has received excellent critical acclaim from several prominent wine publications. Here's a summary of the scores:
