Description

Situated amongst the rolling hills opposite and up river from the city of Bordeaux. This area is perhaps the most beautiful area in all the Gironde - particularly to an Englishman and is a reminder of home in many respects.

Château Grimont is near the villages of Camblannes and Quinsac, quite near the river.

This MAGNUM has a complete label, and a level at the base of neck. The firm cork is covered by a French duty-paid capsule. All in all, a good 'un.

A large property covering some 115 hectares with the 50 under vines are planted with 60% Merelot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. Agedd in barrels of which 33% are new each vintage.

For the artists amongst us, it should be noted that Rosa Bonheur - French painter and sculpteur of the Barbizon 'school' and perhaps the greatest female painter of all time - was a frequent visitor and painted a number of her works here.
