Barbaresco 2008 D.O.C.G - FATTORIA SAN GIULIANO - MAGNUM Bottle (1,5 l)

Magnums are thought to be higher quality, as there is less oxygen in the bottle. The same blend of tastes from magnum usually much more accurate than from the 1/1-Flasche and matures even better.

This Magnum is limited on 400 bottles.

Varietal: 100 % Nebiolo
Nebbiolo is the most noble grape of Piedmont and is only planted in the best vineyard sites. The grapes are hand harvested when fully ripe and are vinified immedialtely on their arrival in wine cellar. Aged for 18 month in traditional oak casks, it then rests in the bottle for another 6 months before being released on the market. This wine has a long ageing potential.

Characteristics: Garnet red with shades of orange that become more evident with the passing of years; a distinctive aroma, ethereal, intense, full of violet and liquorish with hints of vanilla, the taste is warm, full, dry and harmonious. Its austerity is linked to the presence of sweet and complex tannins.

Food Pairings: Boled meats, roasts, grilled meats, braises, stews, wild game and aged cheeses.



The winery "Fattoria San Giuliano" is located on the west side of the hill that is home to the historic village of Neive. The winery along with its 17 acres of vineyards is family owned and run. The vineyards enjoy great exposure of south, southeast and southwest. The winery is named after its historic vineyard "San Giuliano". The annual production is about 60.000 bottles.
