Description

I'm having a clear out of my vinosafe to make way for new purchases, so I'll be listing a fair bit over the next few weeks.

This auction is for one MAGNUM of Bollinger Grande Annee 1982.

From the Bollinger website:

Favourable weather led to healthy general growth for the vine after a late start of vegetal growth. The vines of champagne, that had produced next to nothing in 1980 and 1981, showed abundant growth in 1982. Budding was very fine, sunny weather, especially in September, and several beneficial rains gave way to a new record harvest with yields of 14,054kg/ha. Harvest began between 17th and 20th September, harvest gave musts of quality from well ripened grapes.

From Michael Broadbent:

First noted Nov 1986. SOme depth of colour; a sweet, broad, meaty old-style Bollinger nose with just a whiff of sultanas; medium dry, fairly full bodied, rich, chewy. More recently: fairly pale, lively; good rich creamy nose; dry, medium - full body. Showing well. Latterly I have found it somewhat acidic on nose and palate, but a wine of refinement. Last tasted Nov 1990 4*.
