The 2016 Fattoria Nittardi Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG is a highly-rated, full-bodied Sangiovese-dominant red wine with notes of dark cherry, blackberry, spice, and herbs, featuring elegant tannins and balanced acidity, making it a complex and age-worthy wine that is drinking well now but will continue to develop. It's known for its rich texture, long finish, and pairing well with Tuscan cuisine, especially roasted meats.
Tasting Notes & Profile
Color: Intense ruby red.
Aroma: Dark cherry, blueberry, ripe blackberry, garrigue (Mediterranean herbs), exotic spices, with hints of truffle, cinnamon, and coffee bean.
Palate: Full-bodied, rich, with elegant and gripping tannins, balanced acidity, and a long, persistent finish.
Texture: Silky, soft, and complex.
Production & Aging
Grape Blend: Primarily Sangiovese (around 97%) with a small amount of Merlot (around 3%).
