Description

For auction is an extremely limited release bottle of Penfolds Grandfather Rare Tawny (Fortified Wine).

The rear lable reads as follows:

"Penfolds Grandfather Rare Tawny, a blend of the finest barrels maturing in the Kilimna Fortified Wine Cellar for over fifteen years, can rightly claim to be Australia's benchmark Tawny. The rich, yet delicate fruit character harmonises perfectly with an intense depth of complexity and subtle oak flavours to produce this truely remarkable Tawny".

Additional comment:

"During the maturation process, the wines become more concentrated and complex; opulence, weight and sweetness is intertwined and balanced by the alcohol, acidity, oak nuances and volatility. Grandfather Rare Tawny, with an average age in excess of fifteen years, has a dense, tawny colour, with rich, nutty aromas and extraordinary intensity on the palate".

This Tawny (fortified wine) was bought by me upon release and has been correctly stored ever since and is in perfect condition. I drank a bottle over Christmas and it was superb. It is now difficult to get hold of and sells for around £80.00 a bottle if you can find it.

Postage is £15.00 by Royal Mail special delivery.

Payment by bank transfer or cheque raised against any UK based bank or cash upon collection if you live in the North West region.

Please note that I cannot accept payment via Paypal and have no desire to pass on their high fees to potential buyers.
