Three bottles of Pesquera Tinto Crianza from different vintages...1988,1991 and 1995:-

Owner/Proprietor Alejandro Fernandez has become one of the superstars of Spain.His wine is made from the Tempranillo grape and is aged 2-2 1/2 years in casks,which produces remarkable depth and richness,and a texture not unlike a top Pomerol.The rich fruit,combined with the sweet oaky smells of Spanish oak(although Fernandez has also begun to use new French oak casks)has resulted in some opulent and voluptuous wines that are real head turners.
The superb 1995 Tinto Crianza was released in January 1998.It exhibits an opaque ruby/purple color,as well as a wonderfully sweet,jammy black cherry and cassis nose with hints of roasted herbs,vanillin ,and spice.Thick,juicy,and full-bodied,this low-acid,huge,accessible and flamboyantly fruity Pesquera should drink well now,yet age well for 10-12 years.93 Points.
