Description

The lot consists of three bottles of Pesquera Tinto Crianza:-

Two bottles of Pesquera Tinto 1991.(91 Points WS).
One bottle of Pesquera Tinto 1995.(91 Points WS. 92-94 Points RP).


I cannot find a Parker tasting of the Pesquera 1991,but I have located two more recent tasting notes of this wine on CellarTracker:-

"Medium intensity core - garnet out to the mahogany coloured rim.Clean nose of cedar,vanilla,plum,earth - like a Reserva Rioja and this is a Crianza.Fascinating and multidimensional nose that goes on and on even though it's medium intensity.
Dry with very sweet cedar initially then drying out a bit on the palate as most of the fruit has disappeared.Tea flavours with a touch of cedar.The finish is long with the cedar,vanilla,and dried fruit continuing".

"Mature nose of red fruits,leather,tobacco,earth,wood.Savory and complex,this lingers for a long time,showing hints of fruit and herbs.It might be a little restrained in expression of fruit,but there are some nice layers of elegance here.Almost twenty years old and kicking.Just lovely".

There is a Robert Parker tasting note on the Pesquera Tinto 1995:-

"The superb Pesquera Tinto Crianza 1995 will be released in January 1998.It exhibits an opaque ruby/purple color as well as wonerfully sweet,jammy,black cherry,and cassis-scented nose,with hints of roasted herbs,vanillin and spice.Thick,juicy and full-bodied,this low-acid,huge,accessible,and flamboyantly fruity Pesquera should drink well when released and age well for 10-12 years".

"Gorgeous wine that seems at its peak of development or slightly beyond.Far better than my last bottle,drunk two and a half years ago.This is all hung game,blackberry,leather,spice and peanut on the nose.In the mouth,beautifully proportioned,with lovely acid definition,beautiful,well-mannered fruit,and a long finish,with a touch of tannin.A great food wine and a wonderfully nuanced experience on its own".
