This Magnum was won by my wife in 1966 when at a UK horse show. No date is shown on the labeling and it is very likely the bottle actually dates several years previously as it states under the Royal Warrant "Purveyors of Champagne to the late King George VI"

The contents appear clear but, as shown in the photos, there may have been some very slight leakage with a small amount of black tar-like substance on the outside of the cork.

Ullage is estimated as being in line with the upper gold band on the bottle shoulder.

The bidding is starting at a fair price that reflects the fact that the contents may not be drinkable, but if they are this could be better than winning the lottery.
