2006 Vintage Tasted: Sep 2008
Lovely enticing spicy, black berry jam nose bruised with bramble, chocolate, candied cherry, meaty, licorice and cedar nose. The palate is fresh with fine density and layers of peppery, licorice, spicy, black cherry, plum and cedar flavours with some coffee and saddle leather on the finish. Fine concentration if slightly warm, but why quibble with such bright fruit and acidity. You should age this for 2-4 years for best results. The vines are located on Lytton east where the zinfandel averages 100 years old. (Anthony Gismondi and Stuart Tobe)


These bottles have been in profession storage until recently and are now stored in my Eurocave. I have had a couple of bottles from the case and both were drinking beautifully.
