Description

About Roberto Voerzio
Winemakers don't always benefit from maintaining high standards. Why? If a vintage falls short of these standards, they generally have to compromise them and still get the wine out on the market. Not Roberto Voerzio. Regardless of the costs incurred, when he's not happy with the final result of his efforts, he won't bottle some of his top selections. When he is satisfied, these are flamboyantly rich, dark and expensive modern-style wines from low-yielding old vines in some of the best vineyards of La Morra.

1990 Voerzio Barolo Brunate and La Serra
Legendary wine from a legendary vintage, made by one of the great New Wavers of Barolo. According to Robert Parker: "Roberto Voerzio is one of the most fashionable and hottest (in terms of demand and quality) producers in Piedmont."

1990 Roberto Voerzio Barolo Brunate
From magnum. Heavenly, complex nose. Tight and thick in the mouth. Needs to open up. Long and expansive. Clearly modern in style with a great sense of harmony and balance. Superb. (95 pts.) Antonio Galloni's
