Description

This is an absolutely stunning bottle of wine from Shafer - one of the most collectable in California. Hillside Select is the top cuvee and it ages gracefully.

The bottle is in superb condition having been stored in my Eurocave since purchase in the States many years ago. Wines from 1991 through to 1996 are drinking beautifully now and this 1993 is no exception. Lovely soft tannins and grip, backed by cedar notes and and finish that goes on for ever.

The label is clean with only the most minor nicks from the Eurocave's shelving. the capsule is equally good, with no signs of seepage. The level is perfect, right up into the neck.

The wine can be collected from Central London during the working week, or from North Wiltshire. Alternatively I can ship it to you, appropriately packaged for security.

Opaque purple color, sweet smokey nose, licorise, black currants minerals, vanillin. Fab concentration & extract, but harder tannin than 92 or 94. Well balanced powerful cab 2000-2020. 94 pts
