St Joseph l'Essential 2003 Dom Des Remizieres 94 Parker Points

A glorious St Jo that is now well matured and drinking beautifully. A regular on my winter table with anything robust that compliments this very integrated and balanced wine.

Parker rates at 94 points and says:
"Like its siblings, the 2003 St.-Joseph l’Essentiel was produced from yields of 12 hectoliters per hectare. Full-bodied and unctuously-textured, with more minerality than expected in a year of such great ripeness and high alcohol, its aging in 100% new oak has been completely absorbed by its remarkable concentration. Anticipated maturity: now-
2018".

Very dark. Prune, violet, black jam, soaked fruit aromas. Palate is fat, close to New World style on start, holds a sweetness that is not of its terroir at all - its stamp is of the vintage. International form of wine - olives etc at end, along with the oak. Drink esp 2008-09 on. 2013-15 March 2005
