Description

The fog cooled Stags Leap district of Napa Valley is considered one of the best sites in California for Cabernet Sauvignon, running between the Napa River and Vaca Mountains. The nose contains complex aromas of briar, red fruits, sweet vanilla and cedar. This premium wine is supple and elegant, intense with cherry and currant flavours yet firm tannins and maturation in French oak add structure and balance.

Wine Enthusiast rating: 94.Grapes for Artemis are sourced from a handful of sites, located between Carneros and Calistoga, including the Fay Vineyard in Stags Leap District.Grapes used are only from independent growers whose vineyards are farmed to very rigorous standards; each site lends its personality to aroma, flavor, structure and mouth-feel of finished wine. Small amounts of Merlot and Petit Verdot were blended with Cabernet Sauvignon for another layer of complexity. 2007 Artemis was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels and six months in bottle, prior to its release.
