Consistently excellent Cellartracker notes:

3/7/2014 - XAVIER AUERBACH WROTE:95 Points
Terroirwijn Vintage Port 1994 tasting and lunch (Villa Augustus, Dordrecht, NL): Velvety and elegant, fully mature, subtle yet with great balance and backbone, powdery, energetic and rounded, touch of caramel, long. Excellent.

3/1/2014 - LWI WROTE:95 Points
A Portnight (Fem Bord, Trondheim): Surprisingly open and mellow, almost mature, complex, even elegant.
1/31/2014 - WADDLE LIKES THIS WINE:95 Points
Amaizing nose (could have breath it for hours). Taste of caramel, red fruits and still strnghfull, event after 35 years.
Excellent Vintage Port but still not ready to drink ! Marvellous but will be incredible in 10-15 years, so save it for now!

1/9/2014 - PANOSKAKAVIATOS LIKES THIS WINE:96 Points
Bordeaux matters, along with Burgundy and Champagne and Port and ... (Ripple Restaurant in Washington D.C.): Amazingly good. By this time in the dinner, I ceased taking any notes. But I recall that the Taylor Fladgate from a full bottle was superior to the Dow 1977 from a half bottle: it had more vibrancy and full bodied richness. Delicious with complex aromatics including chocolate and dark fruit but more subtle than these describers indicate. Thanks to Howard Cooper for bringing this to the dinner. I own some 30 bottles of vintage port, but have not opened most of them because too young. This seemed to be in a mid-life area, and will certainly be appreciated for decades more.

1/9/2014 - DCWINO WROTE:96 Points
Belated holiday dinner - Mostly Burg and Bordeaux (Ripple Restaurant in DC): I am not a big port guy but this is extremely impressive. Expressive, intense and complex nose displaying dry dark fruits, dry figs, fruitcake, chestnut puree, almond, bitter chocolate and coffee. Incredibly silky palate, great balance and long finish. A long time ago, I read that the top vintage ports will require minimum forty years to reach the pick. This may need to reach sixty so twenty more years as it is still young and intense. Nevertheless lovely showing and very enjoyable.
