Tenuta delle Terre Nere Etna Rosso Prephylloxera is a unique and exceptional wine that captures the essence of the volcanic terroir of the Etna region in Sicily. It is crafted from old pre-phylloxera vines. This bottle has been kept in an underground cellar since delivery from the merchant.

"Vibrant red. Very Nebbiolo aromas of red cherry and red rose are complicated by Pinot-Noir like flint and darker fruits. Dense and large-scaled but juicy too, offering bright, pure flavors of red berries and cherry supported by silky tannins. The finishes is pure, suave and very long, with mineral and floral reminders. I find this to combine the best traits of the Guardiola and Calderara wines, which is not that surprising as the grapes used to make it come from the Calderara Sottana and Santo Spirito vineyards (the latter is located right beneath Guardiola, so I wasn’t too far off the mark). Great stuff."
