Description

In 1993, having recognised the outstanding potential of the Hawke’s Bay’s Gimblett Gravels winegrowing district, Trinity Hill became one of the region’s early pioneers, planting grapevines on a barren plot which continues to produce exceptional wines today. Hawke’s Bay has become internationally recognised for, these being Syrah, Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, along with several varieties that Hawke’s Bay is lesser known for, such Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc.

Trinity Hill also produce wines from varieties which are rarely, if at all, planted in New Zealand, such as Marsanne, Roussanne, Viognier, Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional and Touriga Francesa. Their wines are made using traditional techniques, sometimes even including foot stomping, or pigeage. Chief Winemaker Warren Gibson has led the Trinity Hill winemaking and vineyard teams since 1997 and is recognised as one of Hawke’s Bay’s, most experienced and successful winemakers. The vintages he has produced since arriving at Trinity Hill have earned him the accolades such as New Zealand Winemaker of the Year (Winestate Magazine, 2005).

These mature bottles are currently lying in the premises of a wine merchant. Labels are a little bit scruffy but the contents are high fill and colour looks great. Cork and capsule look great.
