Description

Intense color with attractive fresh, red fruit notes, and hints of torrefaction. Supple and smooth on the attack, the wine becomes rounded and aromatic on the palate, underpinned by a framework of delicate tannins. Highly elegant and fruity wine, boasting great freshness.

The Vintage

Dourthe has increased its knowledge of the vineyard using precise mapping of the soils : 16 plots are thus identified, where various techniques are initiated in order to produce healthy and perfectly ripe grapes. Taking in consideration the cool and wet conditions of the vintage, close attention was paid to the fundamental work carried out – thorough canopy management, cropping levels, grass planting, leaf surface area – to protect the vines from parasite attacks. The excellent conditions of the grapes allowed to delay the harvest as long as possible : three weeks of sunny weather and North-easterly wind before the harvest ensured good ripening and concentration in the grapes.
