Description

The concept of blending Shiraz and Viognier was derived from the great French wine region of the Northern Rhône – the Cote Rotie area in particular. Using only the best Eden Valley fruit, the 2012 Yalumba Shiraz Viognier is rich in concentrated fruit flavour. It is full depth crimson red in colour. The aroma opens with the fresh brightness of lifted spices, blackcurrants, cherries and lavender-violet florals and subtle white pepper hints. A medium to full bodied wine packed with dark fleshy cherry fruits and anise. This is an elegant wine with a tight framework of chalky tannins that exhibit its Eden Valley provenance.
